Well, another E3 has come and gone, leaving in its a wake an army of exhausted attendees and media types that want only to get the hell out of LA and curl up at home with their favorite game. It might be relatively easy to guess which games the North American crowd is going home to, but it's a bit more difficult trying to make sense of Japan's top game for the last week: a wrestling-themed pachi-slot sim with a mile-long name.

Once again, the fine folks at Dengeki Online make Chart Attack possible.

That's right, last week belonged to Pachi-slot Toukon Denshou Inoki Matsuri: Antonio Inoki to Iu Na no Pachi-suro Ki/Antonio Inoki Jishin ga Pachisuro Ki, the new pachinko slot game featuring New Japan Pro-Wrestling star and Japanese media icon Antonio Inoki in all his beefiness. Line up the symbols, and win! Screw up the order, and watch a cartoon Antonio kick you in the crotch! It's win-win, really.

But Antonio proves too heavy for even an army of Pikmin to lift, as Pikmin 2 stays firmly locked in the #2 slot for last week. The game's been receiving terrific scores from the Japanese critics: almost exclusively 9's and 10's so far. Yet another Gundam game from Bandai (Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed: Tomo to Kimi to Koko De on the GBA) hits #3 with its blend of adventure and shooting sequences.

Last week's seventh best-selling game was actually a PSOne game, NEC Interchannel's Black/Matrix 00. The game's anime style and RPG/adventure elements have surely appealed to fans despite its rather hefty price considering the platform. Nintendo's Famicom Mini series refuses to die (Super Mario Brothers is still going strong, and Ice Climber's comeback is inspirational) much like the Pokémon remakes.
